Felicia Byron’s Buna: The Ethiopian Goddess of Ceremonial Coffee
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year to acknowledge and honour the achievements of women all over the world.
To honour the day, Leslie Gallery is celebrating the achievements of thirty-two women artists’ and increasing their visibility in the fine arts community.
“It was my sincere pleasure to jury this show! The body of work submitted for me to view was humbling. The works which encompassed figurative, realism, abstracted, mixed media, sculpture and fiber art were all of extremely high quality. They were intelligent, accomplished and deeply personal to the women who took the time to tell me their stories. Many artist’s statements focused on overcoming challenges while other artists expressed joy, hope and optimism through the current environment.”
Joanne Poluch, Guest Juror
